Herbert Lee & Merlee Williams Memorial Scholarship

(3) $500 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The MTPMBC Scholarship Committee is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Herbert Lee & Merlee Williams Memorial Scholarship. This year, three recipients will be chosen, with each receiving a $500 scholarship. College Students who are members, or children or grandchildren of members are encouraged to apply.This scholarship is in memory of the late Herbet Lee and Merlee Williams who were faithful members of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. For more details on eligibility and the application process, please reach out to Deaconess Charmaine Byrd, Sister Angela Todd, or Sister Brittany Pyles. All applications are due by 7/31/2026.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Be a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, or a child or grandchild of a member (parent, grandparent, or guardian).
• Be enrolled in a 4-year college or technical school.
• Have completed at least one year of college.
• Be a full-time student, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. Complete 25 hours of community service, with at least 10 hours served at MTPMBC. a. As you complete your hours, fill out a Community Service Activity Form and have it signed by a supervisor from the activity.
2. Write and submit a one-page essay on the provided topic. a. The essay must be double-spaced, in Arial or Times New Roman font, and 12 pt size.
3. Submit completed community service activity form and essay to the following email: byrdfam5213@gmail.com
